There is just something about the Jenny Lind style of craftsmanship that makes my heart skip a beat. I love the simple details, sturdy construction, and classic design.
I started searching for a Jenny Lind high chair this past summer when I was pregnant. My Mom and I scoured craigslist, yard sales, eBay, consignment stores and estate sales. We searched in Texas AND Virginia with absolutely no luck. Then two weeks ago my Mom called me and was so excited because she had FOUND ONE! She decided on a whim to search eBay and there it was. A Jenny Lind high chair for sale. Surprisingly they were willing to ship it, and 5 minutes later it was mine! I was giddy!
Yesterday it arrived on our doorstep! After scrubbing the entire thing down and disinfecting it thoroughly I let Emma Claire try it out. She LOVED it!
We are thrilled with our new high chair! After we move I plan on painting it. I'm torn between white and hot pink. Yes, hot pink may not flow with the color scheme I'm considering in a new house...but EC will only be a baby girl for a little while so why not embrace it? I can always paint it another color later.

This is so crazy that you posted this because my Mom and I just had a long conversation about these today! She has been looking everywhere for one for E's birthday party (from West Texas all the way to Houston) and has had no luck! You lucky girl- you guys scored big time. It is so beautiful!
How precious!! I saw one at a garage sale just the other day for $20! We already have one, so I didn't buy it, but I should've snatched up for ya!!

It's absolutely beautiful and so is the little one!
I think my parents still have MY high-chair like this and I have been thinking that I would love to get it down from the attic and paint it! I was thinking a bright yellow or green! I say you should TOTALLY go for the hot pink! :)
My in-laws have a wooden high chair (not J.L.) which Holden has been in a couple of times but he is such a wild man that he bangs his head on the back of it...so, so far he's not a fan! ;)
