Rainy Day

On Tuesday it rained all. day. long. It also happened to be the hubs one day off this week. So we deemed it a relaxing pj day for all. I did manage to empty, clean, and organize the pantry and do a few embroidery projects for some special babies. But mostly we just lounged around the house. We read books, did some cooking, played, napped, watched a movie and just enjoyed our time. I managed to grab the big camera and snap a few pictures.

Watching Emma Claire grab a book, walk over to me, and then back her tush up and sit in my lap melts my heart every time.

She loves to moo when she sees the cows in the book Big Red Barn.

Her face says it all. Puppy love. And are her jammies not THE CUTEST? They are cowgirl jammies for our Texas trip but I couldn't wait.

She randomly started liking her pacifiers again??? ha! She carried them around all day.

I love watching her discover things. Even small specks of who knows what on the rug.

We can hear the train from our living room, when EC hears it she says "woo woo" and does the sign for train.

Random

No time for a full on descriptive post. So here is a random assortment of what we've been up to lately.

My friend had the sweetest baby girl a few weeks ago, Aubrey Grace. She is a doll baby. SO tiny!

EC stayed asleep from the car to the crib. Miracle.

Just hangin' out. She finds a seat anywhere.

I was cleaning out the fridge when I realized one of the veggie baskets was missing. Emma Claire swiped it and brought it to the living room to lounge and watch sesame street.

Tried to get a family picture. ha.

Watching the Oscars with my little sidekick. EC is saying, "Can you believe she wore THAT on the red carpet?!"

This picture should be titled..."Parent. par·ent  (pârnt, pr-) n. Meaning: you will never go to the bathroom alone again. Ever."

Moo. Farm outfit. And yes, I let her stand on a chair.

Emma Claire needs a haircut like woah. A certain Daddy is a little unsure. But I think it's time. Girlfriend is getting an awkward lopsided mullet.

Adventures in Applique

I have had so much fun trying out different designs with my embroidery machine this past week. In the same breath, I have learned a lot. AKA I've made tons of mistakes and ruined a pile of clothing. For those of you who don't get why boutiques and etsy shops charge an arm and a leg for good quality embroidery, trust me...it's worth EVERY penny! ;-) hehe I have a new appreciation for all of the mommas out there who have their own business in applique and embroidery. So here are a few of my finished products!

Preppy pocket tee for baby. Love.

Sweet onesie for a brand new baby boy!

My favorite so far. Is this not THE CUTEST baseball tee you've ever seen?! I know, I'm just a little biased but still ;-) Can't wait to make the other shirt for twin brother.

I finished these yesterday during nap time. Both for sweet babies who are still cookin'! Can't wait to see their cute faces. And apparently yesterday was a blue plaid day? ha!

A blue burlap birdie for Emma Claire. She loves birds right now and I'm thinking she will love having one on her shirt.

What I did last night while watching the Oscars. A race car for a pretty cool little guy.

Stay tuned for more, I have tons of ideas and can't wait to share!

We Love the Library

Right now I'm sitting down {finally} and listening to Emma Claire babble on the monitor. I put her down for a nap a few minutes ago but clearly she doesn't think it's time to sleep yet. Today I'm posting some library pictures from last week.

Emma Claire always brings me these animals. Then she will take them back and forth from my lap to the storage bucket.

This picture cracks me up. Emma Claire is fascinated by the bigger kids and her face shows it here!

These three are trouble. Well mainly Emma Claire is trouble. ;-) She loves to knock down the towers they build with blocks.

Bookworm.

Okay y'all..this next picture STILL makes me giggle. Emma Claire must have been bored during story time. She decided to go up in front of the entire group and lift her shirt. My friend Hayley and I were just beside ourselves laughing. And yes, I did make her stop...just after snapping a few pictures first. ;-)

I took this picture today during spanish story time. Emma Claire doesn't seem to have a shy bone in her body. She always just goes right up to wherever the action is!

A Good Dog...

Last week I got a sad phone call from my  parents, our family dog had passed away. Molly was a 12 year old black lab. She joined our family as a Christmas surprise when I was just in 7th grade. After months and months of giving my parents power point presentations about why I deserved a puppy they finally caved. She was the cutest puppy.

She was a good dog...

However she was also a DESTRUCTIVE dog. She ruined thousand of dollars worth of plants, clothes, furniture, socks, you name it..she probably destroyed it during her first few years of life.

She was also my first photography subject. Long before my thousands of pictures of Emma Claire I filled my parent's computer with thousands of pictures of Molly.

She was a sweet dog though. Loved by all.

She was known for her famous head tilt. All you had to do was start saying the phrase, "Do you wanna go on a walk?" or just the word "walk" and she would tilt her head.

She never turned down a good game of fetch.

Always ready to strike a pose.

Her life was pretty good...until we got another puppy. Sammy. She wasn't thrilled as you can tell.

But they learned to like each other.

Emma Claire loved her. sadly this is the best picture I had of the two of them.

I thought I would end this post with our family's all time favorite Molly picture. This is how we will always remember her. Completely crazy.

So here's to you Molly, thank you for being a good dog.
Thank you for letting me dress you up in countless outfits.
Thank you for letting me put bows in your hair. (That one shouldn't be a surprise)
Thank you for graduating from PetSmart puppy school...we didn't think that one was going to happen.
Thank you for always greeting me with a tail wag and a smile.
Thank you for being there on bad days.
Thank you for being a constant source of entertainment.
Thank you for swimming with us in the summertime.
Thank you for always eating the crust off of my sandwiches.
Thank you for "listening" to me when we used to talk on Skype.
Thank you for always wanting to go on walks.
Thank you for understanding that you were a crazy dog and couldn't go on runs with me after the first two times. I needed my arm and you tried to pull it off.
Thank you for finally calming down after 10 years of life.
Thank you for loving on Emma Claire when you first met her.

Thank you, Molly for being a loud dog who always barked out the window, shredded far too many items, always begged for food, was a LOUD heavy breather, sometimes stole food good dog.
