Small Update

So I have been trying to get a post up for the past couple of days BUT blogger is being super slow with loading pictures. Especially my DSLR images. So I decided to do a little life update via the iPhone. I have SO many fun things I need to blog about but for now I will just have to settle for a small update.

On Saturday I hosted a fun baby shower for my friend Hayley. She has twin boys and is expecting a GIRL this June! So excited for her. The weather was perfect and we had such a nice afternoon celebrating.

Hayley is a pretty picky eater {not in a bad way} so I wanted to make sure she actually enjoyed the food I served. Thankfully she loves mexican so I made fajitas, rice, beans, and we had chips and salsa. It was perfect.

Loved the little pops of pink that I had all over my house. And this dresser is my new favorite piece of furniture. I finished it just in time for the shower!

We love spring. That is all.

Bed head. It's out of control in the afternoon these days. And I love it.

She INSISTED on wearing her coat {nothing but a dipe underneath} and sunglasses. Inside. At night. I love her.

Thoughts

I am having quite the busy week. Therefore I am just going to bullet point some of my thoughts today. My child is {for the moment} getting into who knows what entertaining herself.

- EC busted up her face pretty badly a few days ago. She fell down our front concrete steps, and was within arms reach when it happens. Accidents only take one second.  Her nose has several scabs on it. Breaks my heart.

- Blog comments pretty much make my day. But responding to them? Yeah...I'm awful at that. So, if you leave me some love just know that I got it and love you! ;-)

- I'm hosting a baby shower at my house Saturday. I also have two photoshoots that day. I'm crazy, right?

- I'm currently watching my child use our loveseat as a junglegym. Totally safe.

- EC got some fun play food at a consignment sale last weekend. Dixie has eaten both of the waffles out of the set.

- I'm back on My Fittness Pal. I've gained some weight {thanks to my vacations down south} and my pants are a tad tight. Follow me: MallorieGayle

- Speaking of trips down south, I am getting SO excited to meet miss Savannah Jane soon. I am so honored that Allie wants me to do some pictures for them!

- This weekend the husband worked both "weekend" days and went in four hours early today. It is taking me back to last summer when that was our normal life. Not a fan. But blessed to have a hard working husband.

- I've got lots of embroidery/applique designs I've done lately I need to share. They're super cute.

- I apparently have some new followers! If you're new, say hi! I would love to meet you! {I really am going to try and be better at responding to sweet comments, promise!}

- Last night I had an 18mo session with EC's buddy, Tylar. I will share a few pictures with you and you can decide just how the shoot went. And yes, I brought EC with me. I was sure that the open fields and great weather would have meant lots of fun. Apparently I was wrong.

I promise I did get some great ones. But these were just too funny not to share!

This last one of EC is my new favorite picture of her. I just love her little neck roll, her profile, her hair blowing in the wind, and the little flower in her hands. So sweet.

About EC

It's been a while since I've done a post about what miss Emma Claire is up to these days. I'd say it's about time, she is a mere 10 days away from being EIGHTEEN months old. I feel like time is actually going by faster than when she was a bitty baby. More reason for me to write down all of the cute things she's doing these days.

She has the best personality.  She has such a big heart, loves to wave and talk to anyone that will lend her an ear, flirts with boys, and dances constantly.

Eating: She eats pretty well right now and tries anything. For breakfast she loves eggs, pancakes, sausage, and almost all fruit. Lunch is usually some sort of left over dinner, chick fil a, chicken nuggets, fruit, yogurt or cheese. For dinner some nights I cook and others we will have breakfast for dinner, or I will make myself corn salsa and serve EC chicken and avocados. Her favorite foods right now are: mini pancakes, grapes, avocados, baked ziti, deer sausage, oranges,

Sleeping: This week she has started sleeping through the night again. Praise the Lord! She naps every day at 2pm for a couple of hours. Yesterday she fell asleep on the couch nursing at 1:30, I moved her to her crib and she woke around 5. That was her longest nap in a while!

Talking: Girlfriend has LOTS to say. And she lets you know it. She still communicates with a combination of signing and speaking. This week she started saying flower, Emma, and rice. She mimics almost everything I say

She Loves; to kiss mommy and daddy, hug my neck, any and all animals, signing, her bible, Jesus, going to church, playing with friends, bows {it's the first thing she asks for when she wakes up in the mornings, I kid you not} being outside, playing in the dirt, trains, baby singing time, her daddy, BABIES {Girlfriend is baby crazy}, climbing, sitting in "big" chairs, and helping me clean.

I love this age so much. Watching her discover new things, explore the world, and just take it all in is so much fun for me. I say this all of the time but I wish I could just pause time, even if just for a little bit.

Flowers

Because sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers.

Showered With Love {North Carolina Style}

One of the main reasons I went to North Carolina was to throw Allie a baby shower. I had help from her Aunt and Step mom along the way and it turned out perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better shower! I almost felt like a professional party planner! ha! I brought two huge Rubbermaid tubs full of party decor and supplies with me from Virginia. I love the way everything turned out, but most importantly Allie, her family and friends had a great day celebrating miss Savannah Jane.

This onesie is my favorite applique project I've done to date. Too sweet.

Some clothes for miss SJ made by yours truly.

We had a "station" for friends and family to write Savanna Jane a note.

My neighbor and her sister made the cupcakes for the shower. They were delicious! My neighbor's sister is a baker and also made tiny marzipan babies, they were too cute!

The food table. Yummy.

They were so blessed and got so many wonderful things for Savannah Jane. And Allie had lots of little helpers during present time. I love Raleigh Grace's face in this picture.

Opening presents is exhausting. Raleigh Grace had to take a break.

Sweet girls wore matching dresses to the party.

Allie and RG with her momma and aunt.

I just love this picture of RG with her Great Aunt Donna. So sweet.

Allie with her hostesses and mini hostesses! ;-)

The sweet family of three about to be FOUR!

I had so much fun throwing this shower for Allie and I just can't believe next time I travel down to North Carolina it will be to meet miss Savannah Jane! I can't wait!

Secret Garden

This Saturday our little family got to experience something pretty neat in the heart of DC. We were lucky enough to go on a tour of the White House gardens. It was a gorgeous day and we invited our friends from church and their sweet little girl. We had a blast and it was such an awesome experience!

Both girls took their very first Metro ride. They loved it!

Obligatory "in front of the white house pictures" :-) It was seriously such a gorgeous day. The weather couldn't have been better.

The lawn was covered with pictures of each first family planting "their" trees. So neat to read.

Testing the limits...

And there she goes. Please note that everyone else was yelled at if a single toe touched the lawn. Our child ran laps and played on the putting green.

"Mom, can the girls come out and play with me?"

Daddy's and their little ladies.

In front of the west wing.

And just keepin' it real, y'all. This is what 99.9% of our pictures look like.

We had a blast and feel so blessed to be able to have experiences like this and share them with friends!
