Show Us Your Life: Show us Your Pets

Today at Kelly's Korner she's hosting her weekly SUYL and this week is Show Us Your Pets! I seriously don't think I can capture my dog's little personalities in a single blog post but I'll try ;-) Those of you who read my blog regularly know that I have two fur babies...Gracie and Dixie.

This is Gracie, she's our little Chi-Weenie...half Chihuahua half Dachshund. We rescued her from a shelter in Waco almost three years ago. I don't know what I would do without this goofy dog.

This happy dog is Dixie. She's half Chihuahua half Pomeranian and is the sweetest dog on the planet. She has yet to meet a person who doesn't fall in love with her. Those of you who have met her know what I mean :-)

The follow me EVERYWHERE... :-)

I really don't know what I would do without them.

Even when they're rotten....

Which is more often than you would think, and what dogs do you know that POSE with the messes they create so their Mom can take pictures?! HA!

But most of the time they're really sweet.

And more often than not THEY put up with ME!

I constantly use them as bow models.

This one also thinks that she is a human and deserves a spot at the table.

I suppose we do give them reason to feel that they are furry humans...

All in all I really don't know what I would do without them. They are great little companions and I'm excited to see how they do when Emma Claire arrives. I'm very confident that they'll be great big sisters :-)

Shrimp Festival

This past weekend I attended my first ever Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, Florida. There was a lot of fun, sun, and food! During the festival there were pirates everywhere! They "invaded" on the first night, then they stuck around for the fun! If you look to the left of this picture you'll see a strapping Jack Sparrow look-a-like who had just grabbed some food! :-)

Speaking of food...there was So. Much. Food!
The Hubster and I tried a bunch of different things!

 This was our first attempt...we got some grilled shrimp, corn, and sausage. It was pretty good!

I'm not a huge fan of fried food, but I did eat some..I mean I was at a SHRIMP festival, what kind of person would I be if I didn't have some fried shrimp? :-)

Now on to our respective favorites...mine was fresh squeezed lemonade! SO YUMMY! :-)

Now on to the Hubster's favorite...not quite as "healthy" as mine...but equally delicious to him :-)

FRIED OREOS

I have never tried them and just couldn't bring myself to eat them. I'm not a huge oreo fan, and frying them didn't make them any more appealing to me. That's okay though..Hubster at enough for the both of us :-) He was like a little kid, he couldn't get enough!

We took the dogs along for the ride...they had it easy, hanging out in their little stroller the whole time. Yes, stroller. If you read my What I'm Loving Wednesday post from yesterday {you can find it here} then you've been clued in to the fact that the Hubster and I treat our dogs like our babies...literally! hehe

They were truly a sight to see :-) Everyone wanted to stop and pet them, we made lots of new friends this weekend!

Here are my cute in-laws :-)
They go to the Shrimp Festival every year and have been going forever!

It was such a fun weekend, it was made even better by the Hubster's best friends arrival! He brought along his girlfriend and we all had such a fun time together!

Aren't they just too cute in their MATCHING outfits? hehe! It was actually an accident, but I think they look cute regardless! We went to the second day of the festival with them, and then played putt putt that night...sadly I didn't have my camera...I'll let you guess who won. Let's just say that the boys were NOT happy! ;-)

Here we are after the festival...both red as lobsters! But we had such a fun time it was worth it!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's been a while since I've done a What I'm Loving Wednesday post! I'm glad to finally have the time to sit down and blog :-)

{One}
Spending time in Georgia

It's just so beautiful here!

{Two}
Driving around with the Hubster

He loves to take dirt roads...even to pick up a pizza in town :-)  And we always seem to get stuck behind a tractor....only here.

{Three}
Houses in South Georgia

I am IN LOVE with each and every house here. I have always loved this style of house, and there just aren't enough of them in Texas! Driving around town here is so fun for me because I love to look at all of the cute houses. Big, small, elegant or simple...they're all beautiful to me! I took these pictures on my phone while just driving around the other day..I didn't have my big camera, these pictures will just have to do! :-)

{Four}
Boiled Peanuts and Okra

While these foods aren't a new love for me...I sure do get a lot more of them here!

If you want to drool over some more southern cooking, visit THIS POST...it will make you wish you were here with me! :-)

 {Five}
Shrimp Festival

This past weekend the Hubster and I...along with the in-laws and the puppies went out to Fernandina Beach to attend the annual Shrimp Festival! :-) This is just sneak peek...look for a full Shrimp Festival post coming soon!

{Six}
The fur-babies

I'm SO GLAD they have a haircut!!! They look so much better! We took them with us to the Shrimp Festival and people just loved coming up to pet them. That might have to do with the fact that they were in a.....STROLLER all weekend. Yes, that's right...we put our dogs in a baby stroller. Not even a fancy dog stroller, a true baby stroller. To be fair, it was the Hubsters stroller when he was a baby, so we didn't go out and actually spend money on this! We wouldn't have survived the weekend without it y'all! It was so crowded, there was no room for them to walk around, and it was H-O-T! They loved getting to lounge all weekend!

{Seven}
The Hubster

I couldn't do a what I'm LOVING post without mentioning my sweet Husband. Words cannot describe just how lucky I am. He was so sweet all weekend at the Shrimp Festival. What other guy do you know that would push his DOGS around in a BABY STROLLER?! He was a trooper, and was truly better at moving the stroller through the crowds than I was! He's going to be such a good Daddy someday! :-) I think I've got a keeper!

Busy Day!

Today was a busy day in Georgia! We traveled to Macon to run errands and do some shopping! :-) Then we went to Ray's Millpond for dinner, southern food at it's finest!

Of course the food isn't exactly the healthiest...but if we visit here once a year I'm okay with it!

I always get the alligator and shrimp! I'm not much of a hush puppy fan, but after dinner you take your leftovers and feed them to the live alligators they have out back!

They're just little babies! And no...these aren't the ones they serve in the resturant ;-)

Another fun thing that we've gotten to do while in Georgia is watch the dogs run around in the backyard! There is a ton of land for them to explore and they love it!

Have you ever seen two happier puppies? :-) They love Geogria!
