Emma Claire's First Easter

This post could also be titled: The Easter that didn't go at ALL like we planned! HA! But isn't that how life is with an infant? We had planned on getting up early to get to the first church service before the Hubs had to leave for work. (Yes, he had to work on Easter. Insert sad face here.) Well Emma Claire has decided lately that she loves getting up in the middle of the night, every night. The night before Easter was no exception, she was up four times. Well by the time we were up and decent in the morning we were too late for church, so we watched the service online. As much as I pictured taking Emma Claire to church in her cute smocked dress and big ol' bow, spending time as a family celebrating Jesus and discussing the sermon (in our PJ's) was just as special.

After watching church the plan was for Emma Claire to take a nap before heading to our friends house for lunch. Well we are in the process of dropping our early morning nap so it was a rough morning and Emma Claire didn't go down until 11:40...lunch was at noon. Needless to say we missed lunch and the Hubs had to leave for work so he didn't get to visit with our friends at all. Emma Claire and I did make it over in time to watch the Easter egg hunt and visit out for a little while. So while our Easter wasn't what I thought it would be, it was still special and we got to spend time as a family and remember the real reason for the holiday.

“Jesus died for us, that we should no longer live for ourselves, but for Him, who died and rose again on our behalf.”
2 Corinthians 5:15

The Easter Bunny came! :-) Emma Claire also got presents from her Grammy and a card from her Mimi and Poppy! Someone is a very loved little lady!

My little snuggle bunny in her Easter pajamas. I just love the bunny feet.

First Easter jammies! We have "first" jammies for every major holiday so far!

Playing with Daddy on the couch. I actually think she was "dancing" to the worship music in the background ;-) Oh and please note the jammie wardrobe change. Yes we had a huge diaper mess before 9am! We did change into more Easter jammies though!

Sweet princess in her lamb smocked dress. I just LOVE the white dress, white bow, white tights, and white shoes! Hello springtime!

Daddy's girl.

My sweet angel, and a SMILE!

The whole family! This took a lot of time and I can't believe we actually got a good one of all of us!

She loved her Easter basket!

Emma Claire and her bunnies!

Always a lady!

Sweet little shoes.

I just love the lambs on her dress!

Sweet little face.

Outfit change!

She kept biting her lips and messing with her gums so this is the best face I could get it cracked me up.

We went outside to get some pictures in the pink chair but she had no interest in looking at me. She just wanted to play with her knee and toes!

Her new favorite thing to chew on...my camera strap!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

I know you make your own bows but I was wondering if you could suggest a good place (with reasonable prices) to purchase one. Lucy's bday is coming up and I want a big bow to go eith her cupcake pinafore :) thanks!!! Happy Easter :)

awww, I love her little smocked dress, so pretty and ladylike =) It must have been something in the water because my daughter was up all night the night before and didn't nap until 2 Sunday! Glad y'all had a good Easter. ~Andrea

To be honest, I would've been just as happy at home in my pj's. Lol. But I know it's not quite the same.
Seriously cute pics. Love the one of the two of you. :) So pretty.
