Nursery Update!

I finally ordered Emma Claire's crib bedding!

I've loved it from the first time I saw it and am so glad we went with this bedding! It's the Petite Paisley bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. I just love the bright colors and I think I'll have a lot of fun with all of the different accent colors in the bumper!

In other nursery news the rocking chair for her nursery is ALMOST finished! One more coat of paint tomorrow and screwing in the seats is all that's left! I'm also working on a cute cute cute bow holder for already huge collection of bows! I'm so glad that all of these little projects are getting finished before the big move. Once up at our new house all that will be left is getting her room painted and buying a crib (which will be white!).

Speaking of painting her room...I need some help here...I'm torn on wall colors. I'm not sure if pink would be to much pink. A light blue could work, and I think green would be cute but I had a light green room once growing up and it literally GLOWED. So I'm hesitant to do green walls! ha! Here are some example from the Pottery Barn Kids website. You can customize the crib AND the wall color...GENIUS!

So, HELP! What color would you paint the walls in this nursery?!

The light blue or maybe a yellow.

The blue for sure! So pretty!

I love the blue better or the really really pale green. The green would be fun if done right. I agree though, sometimes it's bright ! Maybe like a sage or a pale yellow !

I would paint it the light aqua blue. Don't try to match it totally but go with a nice, soft pale aqua. Aqua and pink are such a great combo in a nursery. Just some advice from a former design girl! Also-I bought the matching girls twin duvet for my set and I'm having it made into curtain panels by a friend! Just a tip!

I like the blue! I also like the idea of accenting (frames, pillows, other wall decor) in some of the other colors... the brighter blues, greens, etc. Such a cute pattern!

The golden yellow would be nice in a nursery. I cannot wait to see pictures of it when it is all finished!

Well, so much for being original here...I say turquoise blue. :) Before I even scrolled down to see the color choices, I had that color in mind. (How cool that you can see a potential wall color with it.)

Adorable bedding! So many colors to pick up on for accents in the room. Really cute choice.

(BTW...green is pretty much the hardest color to get just right. Can be so aggravating.)

Can't wait to see the rest of your projects. I bet they're adorable.

Hi Mallorie,

I'm usually not a commenter, as I'm reading blogs from my phone as I nurse a baby...I've been reading your blog for a few months (before you got pregnant with baby girl!), and I really enjoy your blog posts. I think I found you through Kelly's Korner, and you remind me a lot of her--so sweet and down to earth.

Anyway...I like the idea of a soft aqua blue, but I wanted to say that a friend of mine painted her daughter's room with two walls pink and two walls green to match a green and pink bedspread, and it really is quite pretty. Not too bright--it's really very nice.

Emma Claire's bedding is beautiful--I love it!!

Yellow - a golden tone, or a pale aqua blue would be nice.

Mallorie...I go with the aqua as well...my granddaughter's room is aqua and it is very cute. Plus it can "grow" with Emma Claire as so many colors compliment aqua.

I love that bedding! And I definitely agree with the consensus that the blue would be so pretty! I love blue in little girls rooms :)

I fell in love with this on pinterest... I love the not quite green but not quite blue wall and the little wall decorations are too cute! Perhaps it would match your (precious and oh so girly) bedding. http://pinterest.com/pin/70013693/

If you would like a nice green Benjamin Moore has a very nice selection of shades on a particular paint swatch. We went with Apple Blossom but the two lighter ones above it would have been fabulous as well. I choose green because I knew we planned to have more children and didn't want to have to repaint the nursery for quite awhile! When she gets bigger she will LOVE the pink! The aqua is so beautiful though!

Do you still have this bumper and is it still in use? I would love to buy it from you if you're willing to sale. I know it's an odd question for someone to ask. I was searching for a way to buy the bumper because it's no longer available online and came across your blog so I just had to ask. Please email me at knt2569@yahoo.com and let me know if it's an option. I've already purchased the quilt and even purchased the teen comforter for our older daughter (who will be sharing a room) went back today to purchase the bumper and they no longer sale it. I'm devastated!!
