Mundane Monday

Today I had big plans of running some errands, going to the library, and doing a few house projects. However, I did none of those. Instead Emma Claire and I hung around the house and played. We had quite a low key day and nothing extraordinary happened. But aren't those some of the best days?

This morning the hubs had to go to work early but he was a rock star husband and took Emma Claire after I nursed her. They had some good Daddy/Daughter time and let mommy sleep. I was so grateful!

Mommy is a GREAT jungle gym first thing n the morning. Nothing like getting climbed on ALL OVER to wake you up. PS do you see our paint sample color on the wall in the top right corner? I'm loving it so far. Might be time to take the plunge and paint the whole room.

Morning playtime

Her new "growley" face. I'm almost positive she is feeling her teeth but it still makes me laugh!

EC had a HARD fall this morning. She was playing with her musical walker when she went all the way forward and banged her head. Some cuddles, nursing time with mommy, playing with the puppies and stripping off her jammies and she was as good as new.

Some serious reading going on here. She laid like this and "read" her ABC book for almost five full minutes. She is becoming great at independent play.

Smile! Camera time.

This is one of her new favorite things to do. She LOVES when I "flip" the camera around so she can see herself on the screen.

Always gets a good giggle out of her when we do this.

Fun Mail Day!

Today we got some fun mail from Polkadot Posies, our fav bow supplier! And as excited as I was about the bows Emma Claire was thrilled to have some paper to rip up.

I ordered some {gasp} SMALLER bows. Yep, that's right. Now that she has plenty of hair to hold a bow we had to downsize...for now! Don't think our big bows are gone forever!

I just love this. She has SO much hair now! This bow held like this all evening and I didn't even have a hair tie in it. It was just clipped up in her hair!

A real life ankle biter! She loves to bite me now.

Dinnertime

Tonight for dinner I just made a pantry pasta salad. AKA I cooked some pasta and threw in all of the veggies I had along with rotisserie chicken, Italian dressing, and salt and pepper.

Paired with my pasta salad I had the last glass of my strawberry and lemon infused water. Cait and Emily both have this pitcher and I have been meaning to get one all summer! I finally picked one up at Target the other day and I LOVE it so far! I think I'm going to use some blueberries next!

So there ya have it. Our simple, stay at home, Monday. I know that when Emma Claire is grown these are the kind of days I'm going to wish I could have back. I'm so thankful I have this blog so that in the years to come I will be able to look back and remember the small details of days like today.

If you need a good laugh...

then you HAVE to watch this video. I have tried OVER AND OVER to get it to post on the blog but it keeps failing so I'm just going to post my YouTube link for you to follow to the video.

Today I discovered today that Emma Claire finds the phrase "No, No." HILARIOUS. I also would point my finger at her when I said it. She literally laughed for five minutes straight about this. I was DYING laughing as well. This was probably one of the funniest things she has done so far in her little life.

And just for fun..here are some pictures I took today of my crazy baby.

Powder Bath Peek

Now I know the status of my powder bath is not pressing news for most of you, but for me this was at the top of my house to-do list. I am happy to report that I have finished painting and the orange is no more.

Just in case you don't remember, here is what the room looked like before.

Lovley, right?

Here is a little peek at some of the changes.

Here's a close up view of the new wall color with my up cycled $9 goodwill mirror.
I am in LOVE with this mirror!

The light blue really makes the baseboards pop and looks great with the hardwoods. (That need to be cleaned from some little paint specks! oops!)

One of the most time consuming parts of this project was the fact that I had to paint the ceiling. Yes, even the ceiling was bright orange. I decided that I wanted a crisp white ceiling to contrast with the pale blue. I am SO glad I took the time to do this. It really makes the room, I think.

I still have a few things left to do
 - Replace the towel bar and toilet paper holder.
- Clean up the floor (oops there are some paint spots!)
- DECORATE! I already have a few pieces for the room that need to be prettied up.

Can't wait to reveal the entire room!

{Our Paint Colors}
Ceiling: Bher premium ultra white ceiling paint

Daddy is HOME!

While I didn't mention it on the blog, the hubs was gone all last week on business. The lucky duck got to go to Texas AND Florida, while I worked my tush off on the house had fun at home. Anyways, he got home last night and a certain little girl was VERY happy!

She was so cute and cuddly. Emma Claire is many things but cuddly she usually is not. So we were both surprised that she just snuggled on the couch with him.

After playing for a little while she lost her piggy tails and had CRAZY hair!

Today she was ALL about playing with him. I love that she loves her Daddy so much!

Nothing like giving Daddy a good kick in the mouth! ha!

While we did have fun this past week just us girls we are SO GLAD he is home!

Friday Funnies

I feel like our house has been filled with laughter lately, which just makes me so happy. Our home has always been happy but now that Emma Claire is cracking me up on a daily basis we have such a joyful atmosphere.

I thought that today I would share some of our funnier moments from the past few days.

I dressed EC up in a little daisy outfit a few days ago and she looked just precious.

However two seconds after that first picture was taken she proceeded to have the hissy fit of the week for NO reason!

So what do I do? Snap away...there's nothing like a well documented pouty face!

Just pitiful, I tell you.

Okay this is one of the funnier moments of our week. I was picking out cantaloupes at the grocery when I noticed EC was jumping up and down in the seat. Then when I asked her if she liked the cantaloupes she started CRACKING UP. It was hilarious. She giggled and giggled, I just wish I had someone else with me to video tape her reaction. Priceless!

Pigtails. Again. Because I just can't get enough of them. And if this little graham cracker and peanut butter covered face doesn't make you smile I don't know what will!

I know you can't see her face but let me assure you she is squealing. Watching the dogs do their business is the highlight of little miss' day. She thinks they are hilarious. Especially when watching them through the backdoor!

Another pout sesh. This was after mommy let someone play a liiiiitle too long and postponed bedtime longer than usual. Can you tell?  {The top right is my fav, such a little drama queen already. I love it.}

If only you could have seen what I was doing to get her to smile like this. I was holding Gracie in one arm, the camera with the other and jumping up and down. Emma Claire thought that was the FUNNIEST thing. So naturally this went on for five minutes. Poor Gracie, and poor momma's back!

On a heavier note my thoughts and prayers are going out to the community of Aurora, Colorado. I still cannot believe that someone could go into a movie theater and open fire like that. I am praying that the families of those who were killed or wounded get the justice they deserve, and that the surviving victims heal both emotionally and physically.

"Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind." Psalm 107:19-21
