Showered With Love

I just want to say thank you to all of my wonderful friends and family who came to my shower today! :-) I loved getting to see each and every one of you and am so blessed to have you in my life. Emma Claire is such a lucky little girl to have so many people who love her already!

My cousin Katrina hosted the shower for me at my parent's house and everything was beautiful! I am so glad that I was able to have this baby shower before moving. Getting to visit with everyone before the big move was just what I needed, even if a few tears were shed! Here are a few (okay, more than a few!) pictures from my beautiful shower!

I will be doing a separate post on this, I LOVED getting to read through what everyone wrote down! I am going to make more of these for other people to fill out too! As my Dad and Grandpa slipped out to lunch before the shower started I gave them both one...their answers were great!!!

Nothing Bundt Cakes. Nothing more needs to be said. Delicious! Thanks Sarah!!! I missed you today, wish you could've been here!!!

How cute is this?! So. Dang. Cute!

The beautiful hostess with the mostess! :-)

My wonderful Mommy! Thank you for all of your hard work leading up to the shower! I love you!

If I look even HALF as beautiful as my Grandmother does when I'm her age, I'll consider myself VERY lucky!

Jesus loves me book. It even sings the melody so you can read the lyrics while reading the book, so sweet!

My Grandmother made this BEAUTIFUL blanket for Emma Claire. I wish y'all could touch it, it just SO soft! I can't wait to wrap her up in it!

hmmm..there is a onsie in this bunch that Emma Claire may not be allowed to wear, any guesses as to which one? ;-)

Today was so much fun! I enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you to everyone who made it so special, I love you all!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's Wednesday! Hooray! Each day now is a day closer to moving into the new house AND seeing the Hubster! I'll also be seeing my in-laws soon when they come to visit our new house and help with getting settled! As always, link up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love to join!

Only 23 days until I see this handsome fella...

My AMAZING parents!

My dad practically re-built a dresser for me! He worked SO HARD in the heat! What a great Dad :-)

My Mom has been SUCH a big help too! She has worked non-stop on different nursery projects with me. She stripped and sanded the dresser for the nursery, re-covered the pads for the rocking chair, and on top of all of this she's getting her house ready for my baby shower this weekend! I really do have the best parents in the world! Thank you Mom and Dad for all you've done to help me!

Spending time with my best friend :-)

Rachel and I have been best friends since Kindergarten. We have stayed friends all through our childhood and I am so lucky to have her! She went to college in North Carolina but we've stayed close throughout the years! Since graduating she will be moving back to North Carolina for work. BUT the good news is that she's only 7 hours away from me now! (Once I move to Virginia!) That's the closest we've been since going away to college!!! I've loved getting to go shopping with her while we're both at home in Texas AND she spent three days with me in Waco organizing, cleaning, and getting ready for the movers to come! Seriously, what a great friend!!!

Getting things ready for Emma Claire

My Mom and I found this bassinet at a garage sale for only $10! It is literally brand new, I think it was used a few times! We've already taken all of the fabric off and washed it and deep cleaned the plastic parts. It's SO CUTE! It has white and beige toile fabric and is just so sweet!

{Six}
Ordering Emma Claire's bedding

I just LOVE her bedding! It's petite paisley from Pottery Barn Kids! I can't wait for it to get here!!!
Addition: I'm also LOVING all of the amazing comments on wall colors! (Read original nursery post HERE) Seriously you guys are the best! I think I'm going to go with the soft/pale aqua blue! So, not the blue in the bumper but the muted blue! I think it's going to bring out the other colors in the bumper and really make it pop! Again, thank you to everyone who gave me their advice!!! :-)

Organizing and Pinterest
I feel like I can't do a What I'm Loving post without including Pinterest! I've gotten SO MANY great ideas from Pinterest, I'm addicted! I also have been organizing a LOT lately and am currently working on our family binder!!! You can read about that HERE!

Nursery Update!

I finally ordered Emma Claire's crib bedding!

I've loved it from the first time I saw it and am so glad we went with this bedding! It's the Petite Paisley bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. I just love the bright colors and I think I'll have a lot of fun with all of the different accent colors in the bumper!

In other nursery news the rocking chair for her nursery is ALMOST finished! One more coat of paint tomorrow and screwing in the seats is all that's left! I'm also working on a cute cute cute bow holder for already huge collection of bows! I'm so glad that all of these little projects are getting finished before the big move. Once up at our new house all that will be left is getting her room painted and buying a crib (which will be white!).

Speaking of painting her room...I need some help here...I'm torn on wall colors. I'm not sure if pink would be to much pink. A light blue could work, and I think green would be cute but I had a light green room once growing up and it literally GLOWED. So I'm hesitant to do green walls! ha! Here are some example from the Pottery Barn Kids website. You can customize the crib AND the wall color...GENIUS!

So, HELP! What color would you paint the walls in this nursery?!

Family Binder

After reading Emily's post about her newest project (a family binder) over at Live a Charmed Life I was hooked and had to start making my own! I of course went straight to Pinterest where I found my newest favorite blog, I Heart Organizing, it's great blog with tons of awesome organizing ideas! I used her idea for a cover page and made my own!
I also got a bunch of other great ideas and am in the process of making more pages! As I get them done I will be sure to share! I'm not sure what sections I'm going to have yet, here's what I'm thinking so far. I'm sure I'll come up with other things that will need to go in here!

*Important Information: House info, emergency contact numbers, utilities information, phone list

*Cleaning: Cleaning schedule, checklists, cleaning tips

*Food: Menus, shopping lists, food charts, recipes

*Finance: Bills, Budgets

*Emma Claire: Doctors numbers, Doctors visit information

*Hubster: Work stuff , nothing that would interest you guys ;-)

*Fur-Babies: All of their shot records, vet visit paperwork

Do you have a family binder? If so, what's in it?

28 Weeks

WOW! 28 Weeks...aka I've officially started the THIRD and final trimester! I'm now SEVEN months pregnant...I've been saying this a lot lately but seriously, where did the time go?! I feel like I just found out I was pregnant and now I'm a whopping seven months?! AH! And the due date countdown is now at 84 days. HOLY COW! Moment to minorly freak out please...I just cannot believe that she will be joining the world that soon! I am still coping with the exit plan, hopefully in the next 84 days I will come to terms with the inevitable. I'm sure by the time her due date rolls around I will be so excited to meet her it won't matter...I hope. ;-)

How Far Along: 28 Weeks

Size of Baby: 2.25 pounds and about 14.8 inches tall!

Total Weight Gain: 13lbs

Maternity Clothes: Yes!

Gender: Sweet little GIRL!

Movement: Still a ton of movement. I do get a little freaked out when I can tell I'm feeling a foot/elbow/butt (not sure which I am ever feeling...but I know it's hard!). Movement now is just so different from the first little flutters! I also LOVE watching my belly at night. She literally rolls around and it's the neatest thing to watch. She has also started kicking and moving enough that I can see her movement through my shirt.

What I miss: Other than the Hubster, not too much. :-( Countdown: 25 days!!!!!

Cravings: Chick-fil-a...but who doesn't LOVE Chick-fil-a?! Grapes, Doritos (that's a new one), and kettle corn (convenient that we're still SO far away from fall! ha!)

Symptoms: My belly is feeling SO tight lately. I just don't know where she's going to go these next several months! I feel like I'm running out of room already! ha! Check back in with me at 39 weeks and see how I'm doing then compared to now ;-)

Best Moment of The Week: Spending time with my best friend Rachel and working on nursery projects with my Mom and Dad! We (I use that term loosely, my Mom has done almost ALL of the work! She's awesome!) have been working on an old dresser that we found at a local resale shop that will also be the changing table in the nursery! Look for a post about this soon, it's not quite done yet! We are also right in the middle of finishing up the rocking chair for the nursery! It's the flea market rocking chair that I wrote about HERE. It is DARLING! I can't wait to share! I also have a "new" antique low dresser thanks to my wonderful dad! I seriously have the BEST dad EVER! He was my personal carpenter all weekend helping fix up and repair both dressers! One literally had to be completely re-built! Look for a bunch of fun furniture posts to come soon!

What I'm looking forward to: Finishing up baby projects with my parents and my baby shower next weekend!

Baby Bump

I'll leave you with a few pictures of one of my little darlings being extra cute...

Uh huh...she completely shredded an entire paper towel right at my feet! Little stinker! She even looks guilty!

Pinteresting

I am truly a pinterest addict, as I'm sure a lot of you out there are! What's not to love?! Drooling over gorgeous homes, finding great decorating ideas, yummy food, cute clothes...and the list goes on and on! I have so many great ideas that I can't wait to implement when I move into our house! For now I only have a few ideas that I've found that I can try out, one of them is the clementine candle!

Click HERE for the original post with directions!

Here is my attempt!

It actually worked much better than I anticipated! However, it did begin to burn quite quickly and I had to put it out :-( It was a fun to do and I LOVED how it looked but I'm just not so sure how practical it is. I would never leave one of these in a room unattended. The top started burning so quickly it could easily start a fire. It's a neat little trick to have and I might try it with a larger orange sometime and see how that works!

What ideas from Pinterest have you tried?!
