Grammy's Garden

Since I'm always showing y'all my flowers/plants I thought it would be fun to show you my parent's backyard. They always work SO hard on their landscaping/projects and it just looks so good this time of year, I just had to show it off and brag on them a bit!

Y'all come on in and take a look!

The view from the back porch. Last summer the hubs and Dad removed all of the old tile and paint in the pool. AKA they chipped away at the pool for days on end. ha! Then they they gave it a completely new coat of paint and brand new tile. My Dad also just re-painted all of the surrounding concrete.

My dad's pride and joy. He just re-built this pergola. They discovered that the old one, that was there when they bought the house, had deteriorated and wasn't worth saving. So my Dad tore it down and built a completely new one from scratch! Talk about impressive. I just had to share this project and give it it's own little mention.

Cute little table/chiminea area.

Mom's garden. This year she has planted onions, basil, lemon mint, chocolate mint, rosemary, and cilantro Most years she also plants tomatoes and sometimes okra (my favorite!).

I seriously could do a blog post JUST on all of her gorgeous flowers. The backyard just looks so amazing now!

Did you notice the blackberries on the collage above? They have an amazing blackberry bush in their side yard that has produced a ton of blackberries this season!

Thanks for stopping by!

Crazy Baby

My parents have a jumperoo that Emma Claire just goes nuts for! I snapped these pictures the other morning while my dad and I were eating breakfast and cracking up at her faces. I wish she loved it this much all of the time! She only goes crazy like this in the mornings

There's nothing like having a constant source of entertainment.

Fun in the Sun

At our house we firmly believe that you can NEVER have too many bathing suits!

We are so glad that Grammy agrees with us and that she added this darling little piece to our collection. I am obsessed with it and just can't get over how cute Emma Claire looks in it!

She looked SO darling we just had to take some pictures before swimming the other night.

Seriously, I can't get over how cute she is! If only it was easy for us adults to look great in a swimsuit, right?!

Our typical trio picture. And I am speaking for Emma Claire here, but we are both so jealous of Aunt Paige's tan ;-)

Aunt Paige & a Purple Chair

Aunt Paige is here!
We have been having such a fun time and just had to do a little photo shoot in the front yard yesterday!

Emma Claire has tiny Adirondack chairs everywhere she goes! So of course we did a little photo shoot in a matching purple bubble. I adore this outfit.

Look at her TEETH! Such a big girl!

Emma Claire's Six Month Portraits

I am so excited to share Emma Claire's six month pictures! We got them done just in time, she turned seven months a few days after we took these. It still counts in my book!

I just love how these turned out and I am going to order several on canvas and I have already made and ordered her book!

We had such a fun time as a little family doing these. The best thing about being the mommy AND the photographer is that we got to do this completely on our time, take two whole days, drive around and let her nap between shoots. I am so glad that I am the one capturing these memories for our family. It's such a special thing for me.

Leavin' On a Jet Plane

I'm not sure if I mentioned it on the blog or not but...Emma Claire and I are in Texas! We left yesterday and got in around four. I just have to take a few seconds and brag on my wonderful little travel buddy. This is our second trip to Texas just the two of us and she did even better than the first time. I am so proud of her! I won't sugar coat it, traveling alone with a seven month old isn't easy, but she did so well it was about as easy as it could get!

I think it may be time to say bye to the moby. She looks HUGE in this picture! My Mom even said it looks like I have a toddler strapped to me! ha!

How we spent our time waiting for our flight.
"Playing" with Sophie, watching the airplanes arrive and depart, laughing, nursing, and making lots of new friends. I just have to say that I almost feel like I'm accompanying a celebrity when I'm out with Emma Claire. I'm not trying to be vain or conceited but literally every where we go there are people CONSTANTLY pointing at her (or her bow! ha!) and coming up to talk to us. Thankfully she has gotten over her fear of strangers talking to her and is quite the little flirt. It's just a hoot to watch her interact with people. And I get the FUNNIEST comments about her bows. Yesterday a woman said to me, "Why, there's a baby attached to that bow."

She was quite the little chatterbox on the plane. She talked (screamed) a lot, she played, and took a little nap. The last flight we took she slept all but thirty minutes of the three and a half hour flight. However this time she was awake pretty much the entire time. She slept for maybe twenty minutes. She fussed at the very end of the flight, as we were landing but that's it. Again, she made lots of friends on the plane.

I have so many comments about this picture. First of all I am OBSESSED with the paint color of my Mom's Jenny Lind high chair. I'm thinking I want to paint mine this color too. I mean she got the same high chair after I did so it's only fair that I steal her paint color, right? ha! And second, she got a puff stuck inside her lips today and it looks almost like she has hillbilly teeth in! My Mom and I were DYING laughing about this. My best friend, Rachel, and I have quite the ongoing inside joke about hillbilly teeth so I texted her the picture right away so she could laugh along with us! And last, note the bib. My Mom strapped that on her the second we got there. It's her favorite.

Got my strawberry lime-aid this afternoon. Love.

After running some errands we had pool time in the front yard while G-Pop did some yard work. Do any of y'all have sweet gum trees? The ones that drop the spiky little balls??? Well they are a pain to rake up and get rid of. Anyways, that's what my Dad was doing! You can see a huge pile of them in the background of this picture!

After Emma Claire took a nap we finally got to go swimming! I have been itching to get her in my parent's pool and it was fun "introducing" her to the big dogs! My parents have two LARGE labs. This one in the picture is Sammy and he is just a big goof. He cracks me up. Emma Claire loved him.
How CUTE is this little bumblebee pool floaty?! My Mom got it for EC and I am in love with it. My little swimmer liked it too! She was kicking her legs and loved moving around the pool.

We had a great first day and can't wait to have more fun! Aunt Paige is coming up tomorrow to spend the weekend with us and we have a family party on Sunday! Excited for Emma Claire to meet some friends and family that she didn't get to see on our last trip!
