Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Well, we made it back home to Virginia! Today I'm just posting a random little update. I'm a bit under the weather but have some pictures I want to share!

Emma Claire was SO excited to see Daddy at the airport yesterday!

Sadly I'm sick. UGH.

I can honestly say I've been dreading this day since becoming a Mommy. I hate being sick usually and knew it would be even worse with a little one, and I was right. Last night Emma Claire woke up at midnight and while I was nursing her in the rocking chair I was shaking. Once she was asleep again I searched high and low to find a thermometer. I finally found one and discovered that I had a fever of 101.2. Thankfully it was down to just 100 when I woke up and continued to go down throughout the morning. While I have felt terrible I'm SO thankful that the hubs was able to take today off to help me. This morning he took EC to Target to get soup, sprite, diapers, and some other necessities.

Notice: no bow. And her first trip to target without Mommy :-( Can't you tell she missed me so much? ha!

The hubs was complaining that the diapers were SO expensive today. I thought it was because we moved up to a size three this week (tear), but then when we opened the package we discovered he bought the limited edition patriotic diapers!

Can you tell I've been gone for two weeks? Sheesh, it looks like people don't live here! Hopefully I will be better tomorrow so we can get some groceries!

Okay disclaimer for this next picture. No, we don't usually plop Emma Claire in front of the TV. However I don't feel that TV watching is going to rot her brain because a.) she watches it for like 10 seconds at a time and b.) I know she is only looking at the bright lights and sounds. That being said I know everyone has a different view on TV. I personally think it's hilarious when she "watches" TV!

She LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! She will almost always stop what she is doing to watch the intro song. It's adorable. I took this picture on a particularly fussy afternoon when we were just trying to make it until bath time. She was fussing and fussing...until the Mickey Mouse show came on. She literally froze and watched the entire little song!  My mom and I were cracking up!

When I got home yesterday I got to pick the first "harvest" of cherry tomatoes! Too bad I can't taste right now :-( I can't wait to cook with some of our fresh basil and tomatoes!

I took this picture a few nights ago at my parents and it still cracks me up! Lately I have had problems getting EC to eat baby food. Well I finally decided to see if it was just MY baby food, so I bought several Ella's Kitchen organic baby food pouches. Y'all...baby girl went NUTS. She LOVED them! She went from eating literally a few bites of my baby food to eating close to SEVEN ounces. (She ate an entire package when we got home from the store and then another at dinner a few hours later!) So sadly I think my baby food making days may be coming to an end. I just can't compete with miss Ella! ha!

And here's something for you to look forward to...

On the plane ride home I was not feeling great. I wasn't running a fever yet but I had a terribly sore throat and was congested. Read: worst way to feel on a PLANE. During the descent my ears did not pop a single bit. OUCH. It was no fun. I have to admit I had a tiny panic attack when my ears wouldn't pop at all. Even today they still aren't cleared up 100%. Anyways...the plane ride from Texas to Virginia is three hours. Which is a pretty long time to keep a baby entertained, let alone on a plane. So I decided to turn that three hours into "create a blog post about flying with an infant" time. No joke. So in the next few days I should have a nice little post all about flying (alone) with a seven month old! I even took pictures in the airplane bathroom. No, I can't make this stuff up! ha! Now I haven't achieved perfection in the traveling with a baby department but I do think I have a pretty good handle on it by now. So I figured I would share all of the things I've learned along the way!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

That's a mighty patriotic little tush! :) also, Lucy watches TV all the time. The Sprout channel is amazing and teaches a lot of things like kindness, manners and letters and numbers. I don't think TV rots brains unless it's silly shows and they're watching it all day every day :)

I hope you feel better soon friend!!

That is so funny about your fridge, I think mine would like that too if I was gone and Jer was left to fend for himself. He can cook but is not a fan of grocery shopping! haha

How funny about those diapers!! Super cute though! :)

IDK how you flew alone?! Can't wait to read your post!!

The food face picture is so funny! I haven't tried any of the pouch kinds of babyfood - they are so much more expensive than the regular kind! Their flavors seem interesting and yummy though.

Hope you are feeling better! It is no fun being a sick mommy OR having a sick baby. Mommy's don't have time to be sick!

Is your blog on bloglovin'? I need you to put it on there so I can read it from my bloglovin' app on my phone! That's how I'm reading blogs these days but I couldn't find yours! :(

so sorry you feel bad! I can't even count the times I've been sick since G was born but I'm a teacher so I guess it is to be expected :/

I put G in the bouncer and turn on Sesame Street so I can take a shower.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Liam does the same thing when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on. If he hears it from another room he will come in just in to listen to the hot dog song! Cracks me up!

Next time you're in town we need to make real plans to get together!
