Okay y'all, time to share the inside of our home! These also serve as the official "before" pictures of the house. I took these during our home inspection. The house is in excellent condition but needs some cosmetic work. Aka new paint, light fixtures, and eventually appliance upgrades. We are so thankful that these are all pretty minor changes that can be made easily. So without further ado, here is the inside of our NEW happy home!
When you open the front door there is a small entry. You can see through the first level into the kitchen/eating area. The hubs is standing at the island and talking to the home inspector.

The closet behind the front door is a pretty good size.
When you walk inside you see built-in cabinets and a formal living area.
Looking at the formal living while standing by the built-ins. The front door is to the right of that picture hanging on the wall.
Adjacent to the formal living is a powder room. Also known as the orange room. It's a great size powder room, however the color is less than desirable. Even the ceiling is orange. Helloooo primer. This will be a fun project! I'm picturing it a very very light aqua/sea foam green.
The kitchen. This was taken standing in the eating area. I have some BIG plans for this kitchen!
The eating area. The french doors go out to the deck. It's a great size and sadly I don't have a picture of the deck.
When you're standing in the kitchen you can see the family room. They are using it as a dining area but this is where I picture our leather couch and love seat as well as our entertainment console and flat screen. It has great pond views!
This is your view from inside the family room. You can also see the stairs from here. And the dining area to the right. And to all of my Baylor peeps...notice the color scheme they have going? Ha! Green and Gold! It's a Baylor house ;-) Although it won't be that way for long.
When you walk downstairs this is your view to the left. It's another family room and their office. I plan on using that space as Emma Claire's playroom and my office.
A closer view of the playroom/moffice ;-) I'm pretty excited about my plans for this cute little space. I have no clue about paint down here. I have a blank slate and have a few ideas up my sleeve.
When you are standing in the playroom this is your view. The hubs is standing in the laundry room/storage area. It's unfinished right now but the hubs has big plans for it! Hello pinterest inspired laundry room ;-) There is also a door to the left that leads to an unfinished full bath. We plan on finishing that so that the house will have three full baths and one half.
This will be Emma Claire's room. We will obviously be painting, and her crib will go where they have the bookshelf and her dresser will go where the crib is currently. We have measured and although this room looks small it's not any smaller than her room now. Hopefully with a better furniture arrangement it will feel bigger.
This will be the guest room. It's kind of a weird picture. I'm standing in front of a window. It's a good size and will hold both of our twin beds.
The guest bath. Nothing too exciting. Although we do have a linen closet and that's something we haven't had before so I'm really excited. It's the small things, right? ;-)
The master. It has a very dramatic ceiling. I'm really hoping that I can get a chandelier up there! Right now there is a ceiling fan so I'm thinking there is hope!
The view of the other side of the room. I love those windows, they overlook the pond! Such a pretty view. I have the perfect chair all ready for that sitting area!
The master bath. Again nothing super special (yet!). Big shower, large tub and double vanity. The window overlooks the pond. Very pretty.
Okay y'all...this is one of my favorite parts of this house. Walk in his and hers closets! That means all of the crap gear that the hubs has for work can now go in HIS closet! Hallelujah!
So there you have it! Our new home! We cannot wait to get inside and get to work! We have a list of projects about a mile long and are ready to get started. Right now the former owners are still living there and are paying rent back to us. So we are now homeowners AND landlords for the next few days ;-) ha! They just needed an extra week and since we are renting that was no problem for us. We will get to go in sometime on Sunday and do a final walk through once the house is vacant. Monday we are planning on moving a few things over there and then Tuesday we leave for our vacation in Georgia. So we will be officially moving once we get back. We plan on painting several rooms and doing some other projects before moving big furniture over.
Finding this house and getting our offer accepted was no small feat and I can't wait to share that story with y'all. The timing of this entire process has been perfect. I cannot believe how this has all worked out.
I just have to end this post with a picture of the hubs. He was so cute on settlement day.
This
was right before we went into the title company to finalize everything!
I asked him if he was ready to sign his life away and write the biggest
check of his life?
We still can't believe that we are HOMEOWNERS! I cannot wait to share our journey of making this new house our home and all of the projects along the way!
