You know you're a teacher when...

The best day of the week is when the Scholastic order comes in!!! Seriously ya'll, there's nothing like getting your box of books!!! If you're a teacher, you get it ;-)

Such happy things in this box!

As a soon to be new teacher with my own classroom full of kiddo's I am constantly worried about having enough materials, being prepared, and having a great classroom library to start my kids off on the right track. I think I'm off to a great start with this order of books I just got. I have a lot of the classics and some new fun books that I love! Here's my lot of books, I just had to share it...I can't help it, I'm proud of my little library! :-)

I just love all of these books, and they're all MINE now! :-)

I've already read some of these with my little ones!

I am now the proud owner of all of the "If you Give a..." books...

As well as a Kevin Henkes set! These are just the cutest books!

My new favorite Valentine's book is Love, Splat by Rob Scotton. It is THE cutest book!

Also, how adorable is the back cover?! I just love it! On another note...while at the Flea Market this week I bargained with a seller and got this entire box of books thrown into a furniture deal!
(Furniture will be shown soon! Here's a teaser...1930's dresser and vanity! Get excited!)

I got about 130 books thrown into my furniture deal...about 80 are going to be going to my future classroom! That's an amazing deal! This box is full of the books that are "classroom useable". I just have to say that I was so worried about not having books and being unprepared for my first year of teaching and now look at the surplus of books I have. God is SO good, and I can't wait to share all of these amazing books with my class someday! :-)

"O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant." 2 Samuel 7:28

I had completely forgotten about Scholastic Books! How exciting! I remember bringing the order forms home and going over them with my mother and trying to decide what to order for myself. It was like Christmas morning! My favorite was the bookmobile though. We lived in a small town and didn't have a library so the bookmobile was thrilling beyond description. I can still remember the smell of all those old books. Heaven!!!

I'm with kimert. Books make me happy and I too am not a teacher! There is something beautiful about books on a shelf!
And great buy on the box of books! Can't wait to see that dresser!!!!

I get the happiness factor here b/c I'm a parent with 3 little kids. They LOVE when they get their orders in from their teachers! It's happy, happy times.

The series "If You Give a Mouse..." are sooooooo cute!

Have you seen/heard of Scaredy Squirrel by Melanie Watt? You have to check it out. My kids, particularly my 6 year old, LOVE it. She's written a few in that series, but the regular Scaredy Squirrel is hilarious.

Yay for your new books! What grade will you be teaching? My mom and sister were both teachers. (My mom is retired and sister stopped to raise her children. I think she'll go back in a few more years).

As for the dresser/vanity...eek! (That's a happy, excited "eek"). I'm on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to see it!

P.S. I am blessed with 3 children who LOVE to read. Can I brag for a second? Ok. Thanks. ;) Lol.

My son in Kindergarten reads at a 3rd grade level...and comprehends it! My other two children are also reading 1.5 to 3 years ahead also! I think it helps that I have always read to them. There is much to be said for reading to your children! :)

Scholastic is seriously the best! I have been lucky enough to know several teachers who have let me order from them over the past several years and I have accumulated quite the library! I cannot wait to start earning the bonus points for my own classroom!
