A Rooster & Some Chalkboard Paint

Today I'm linking my post to Funky Junk Interiors "Saturday Night Special"! I am going to share a fun little project that I did last May! My parents had a huge garage sale, but before my mom put everything out for sale I got to look through the goods! I instantly saw this lovely rooster hanging....

Special, right?! I have to say, I know some people LOVE their roosters...they're just not my favorite bird :-) But I had plans for this little beauty! I love the iron detailing on the top.

All it took was a little Chalkboard spraypaint....one of the greatest inventions ever! :-) And voilà, you get this...

How fun is this little chalkboard?! :-) I love it!!!

I have this hanging in my dining room now!

Today I linked up with Kelly's Korner again to talk about my alma mater, Baylor University, you can view this post HERE! It was great to connect with current students and alumni! I am just so thankful for all of the people I've met through this wonderful little blog community! :-)

"But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in." Psalm: 5:11

I admit, I was a little nervous when I saw the rooster. They're just NOT my thing. I once made the mistake of commenting on a rooster my S-I-L had in her house. Guess what I got for Christmas. Yeah.

As for your project? Genius. I'm like you. I can see the potential in something and make it work. I think this turned out super cute!

I love this!

I see those cheesy little things at thrift stores all the time and never thought to do this. Such a good idea!

Best,
Ashleigh

I'm like the girl above- seeing it made me nervous but you did a GREAT job. I try to think "outside the box" and make items work for other purposes but this idea has never occured to me. Now I want one... :)
