Blog Evolution

It's so funny to me how this blog has evolved. I started it when the hubs and I were engaged, then soon after became newlyweds. I would blog about projects, our dogs, home decor ideas, and food. I would spend time planning each post and was always thinking about what I could blog about. I always responded to my readers comments and got so excited for each new follower I gained. {Which I still do to this day. LOVE getting new followers! Makes my day.}

Then we learned we were expecting and the blog was transformed into everything pregnancy/baby. I became a mommy blogger and was proud of it. I wrote detailed pregnancy posts, planned out Emma Claire's nursery, and continued to cook and blog recipes.

Once Emma Claire arrived I kept up with the blog and documented our lives more fervently than ever. I looked at the blog as Emma Claire's baby book and a place to write about her early life and record all of her milestones.

Now that we are entering toddler hood I've seen a major shift in my blog. I'm lucky if I get to blog a few times a week. Most posts are random, scattered, and an attempt to include pictures of all that we've done lately. I think this is partially because I choose to not sit on the computer blogging when Emma Claire is awake, and at night I have too many other things to do once the house is blissfully silent.

Now I feel like I'm just rambling, I haven't included a single picture yet, and I still don't feel if my point has been made. Ha! That's what you get for a quickie, trying to be deep, nap-time post. Basically I am just so thankful for the connections this blog has allowed me to make, the history I've been able to record, and the fact that I will always have this blog to look back on to relive the best days of my life.

How has YOUR blog evolved?

And for good measure. Here's a picture of my cutie at lunch today. Such a little ham. Covered in stickers and food. #toddlerhood

Giveaway Winner and Our Weekend

First off, the winner of the Petit Lemon giveaway is..
Comment number 8, Kelsey from Eaton Party of 3! Congratulations Kelsey!
Hope she doesn't mind I snagged a picture off of her blog. But seriously, how cute are these two?! Go check out her blog. :-)

So I titled this "weekend and a giveaway winner" but as I started picking pictures to share I went way into last week. So it's more of a "last week and the weekend too" post ;-)

We loved the weather last week. Warm, but not too warm. Perfect popsicle weather. And yes, my child has more expressions than she knows what to do with.

Blowin' bubbles. Sweet summertime.

Shopping like a pro. Hubby got me some chocolate covered strawberries so we let EC carry the bag from Ghirardelli while we shopped. Then I found a sham at Pottery Barn and she insisted on carrying both bags through the mall just like this. Arms straight in the air. Hilarious.

Skype time with Grammy and G-Pop...and her farm animals.

She wears clothes most days, I promise.

See. Clothes. And I LOVE this dress.

Saturday morning we had a garage sale. It was about dang time. Emma Claire woke up after we had been working for about an hour and had so much fun working the sale. ;-) She loves socializing and was just a hoot all morning. Everyone loved her.

 Sunday morning smiles.

We went out to lunch after church Sunday and EC was all about the dip. She is obsessed with dipping ALL of her food now a days.

And to continue the eating out trend, Emma Claire and I went out for dinner Sunday night too. Kiddos eat free on Tuesdays and Sundays at our Qdoba so it's perfect for us!

I just love this picture of her. She was being so goofy and silly, She was trying to wink at me here. She always makes me laugh.

Our first makeup accident. I have been working on cleaning out our bathroom and had my cabinet open under the sink, and Emma Claire got into my backup mascara. OOPS. Doesn't Dixie look guilty?? ha! What's funny is Dixie isn't ever allowed upstairs but came up with us last night. I think it was just so I could take this picture! It still makes me laugh!

I was so proud of EC this past week for being such a "good cereal eater". She proved me wrong today. I don't think she took one bite.

Also, since we cleaned out our closets I have a few things for sale!

Three mens polos, size medium, good used condition. $5 each! Just $15 shipped for all three!

And I LOOOOVE these slacks. They are super comfy and cute. They are loft size 4 PETITE. One pair of jean slacks, one pair of brown slacks. The jeans are in great condition, and the brown are new without tags. $20 for both!

Where Did May Go?

I cannot believe it will be JUNE tomorrow! Can y'all?! I feel like May just flew by. And all other months for that matter, but lately time seems to be speeding up. So here's a little re-cap of some of the fun we had in may.

First off, a picture of my patriotic princess on memorial day. I just love the dress she wore. I've been stocking up on festive outfits for this summer. We love our red white and blue.

We've spent almost every evening outside. We run around, read the mail, play with chalk, and visit with neighbors.

We've had lots of fun with friends. How cute are these two?! Most of the kiddos in our small group are older, but Emma Claire and miss Gracie are pretty close in age. They love each other.

Speaking of small group, Emma Claire found a flower costume in the middle of our discussion on evening. So you know I put her in it. She was not amused. But she looked adorable.

We've been to lots of play dates with friends.

Inviting boys over already ;-)

We grilled out last week and it was wonderful. LOVE summertime.

On memorial day EC and I went over to friends house for a cookout. After dinner we headed outside to roast smores. Let me tell you, needing a jacket outside on memorial day is a foreign concept to me!

Emma Claire wanted to try out ALL of the chairs by the fire.

First smore! Yes, it was blue. ;-) We had red, white, and blue marshmellows.

 Love that smile.

Poor Dixie. Such a trooper.

We have actually had several cool days. Long pants and jackets in MAY?! So strange!

Family walk.

Her park hair is the best.

She loves me, I promise.

We have an Auntie Annies pretzles in our Wal-Mart. I just want to kiss the person who thought of this idea. Best. Ever.

Momma's girl.

I took this a few days ago before leaving for North Carolina. She is just looking so BIG these days to me.
