Splish Splash

So as I write this post I'm sitting in my own living room. Emma Claire and I got back from North Carolina this evening. We had a blast and will be missing Allie and Raleigh Grace this upcoming week!

Yesterday after running errands the weather really warmed up so we broke out the baby pool and swimsuits. Watching those two splash around and play together was too fun. They had a blast and were quite entertaining. I'm glad Allie suggested that we grab our "real" cameras and ditch the iPhones. I got some great pictures that captured the afternoon perfectly.

She was saying "orange". Her face cracks me up.

Raleigh Grace had fun climbing in and out of the pool.

Her face. Priceless.

Goofy baby. I just love her.

She was saying "pooool" here. Allie and I were cracking up.

I just love them.

Playin' at the Park

On Sunday we took Emma Claire and Raleigh Grace to a local park. They wore their matching circle mono shirts and were just as cute as could be. We were at the park for two hours and enjoyed soaking up the sunshine and gorgeous weather.

I think it's safe to say they had a blast.

Bloggy Baby BFFs

One of the best things to come from this little ol' blog is my friendship with the amazing Allie, who writes Living the Adventures. We "met" when we were both pregnant with our little girls. There was an instant connection and we found out we have too many things in common to count. Emma Claire and I first came to visit them last summer when the girls were barely walking. Yesterday we made the drive down to North Carolina for another visit. Now Allie is expecting her second baby girl and I am honored to be throwing her a baby shower tomorrow.

Please ignore the bags under my eyes, it was 6ish in the morning. ha!

Starbucks  pitstop.

Stole my drink.

If she wasn't sleeping or eating she was reading.

Emma Claire and Raleigh Grace are so sweet together and have been playing really well so far. I have loved watching these two grow up before my eyes and I can't wait to see how their little friendship blossoms over time.

This picture was taken within five minutes of them playing together. They were taking turns feeding each other. So sweet.

Allie snapped this one on the way to dinner. They did this all on their own. SO sweet.

Trendy Tot Tuesday!

Hey y'all! So I'm linking up for Trendy Tot Tuesday for the first time. Honestly I have wanted to link up with her since Megan emailed me about it but just haven't sat down and devoted the time to writing the post. I blame how busy we've been lately. All of my posts have been photo dump/random lately. But today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite subjects. Dressing Emma Claire.

It's no secret that I love dressing up my baby girl. I was chatting with my friend Sonja yesterday about how funny it is that even at this age most children already have a "style". I would say that Emma Claire's style is sweet, southern, preppy, and classy. Now that doesn't mean that we don't spend lots of our days in jammies, play outside in the dirt, or get messy. Trust me, we do.

So here's a little run down of some of my favorite outfits of Emma Claire's.

Her first little sweater set. I almost fell over when I saw how cute this was on her. My cousin gave it to me and I wasn't sure at first but honestly was so sad when she outgrew this outfit.

Baby Ralph Lauren. What's more to say? Darling.

Emma Claire lived in little Carter's rompers/dresses this past summer. They were cute, lightweight, and easy to wash. Perfect combo.

Now y'all know we love us some smocking at our house. This was my FAVORITE from last spring. I am pretty sure I cried when she outgrew this one.

What's the only thing better than a baby in a smocked dress? TWO babies in smocked dresses!

This romper is Corky's Kids and EC was able to wear it all summer. We loved it.

Another "classic" EC outfit.

I loved this one too. This was one of her 9mo portrait outfits.

Gobble gobble. This turkey romper was just too cute.

And I won't even go into how many smocked Christmas dresses this girl has. Here's one of my favorites.

This was what Emma Claire wore to her baby dedication at church. Love love love. It's Heartstrings baby.

This little set was one of her Valentine's Day outfits and everywhere we went people asked me about it, commented on it, and asked if they could buy it from me! ha! Surprisingly I found this on Ebay of all places.

This sweet bubble is actually from the vintage section of Etsy {shout out to Beth Ann for spotting it for me!}

And I have to include this little gem. We had ONE warm day in February and don't you know we took advantage of that! I dressed EC in a vintage baby Lacoste polo that used to be her Daddy's. Paired with a pink bow, sunglasses, and puddle jumpers she was styling.

That's all for now. And seriously this is what miss EC looks like most days ;-) But I think she looks cute even in her jammies.

I have people ask me about a few things constantly so I'm going to bullet point some of my "style tips"

- Our favorite shoes are Puddle Jumpers. They are pricey but worth it. I prefer to buy them at consignment sales, on ebay, or from Zulily.

- We get most of our bows from Polkadot Posies and Wal-Mart. Bows from Wally World are a well hidden secret and hard to find sometimes. They are NOT the Wal-Mart brand, they are "kid connection" and usually put on an end cap or display. Sometimes they don't have them, but when they do I stock up. They are only $1 and are pretty good quality. And as for Polkadot Posies I can't sing their praises enough. April, the owner, is awesome to work with and they ship at lightning speed. That's where I order all of EC's "big" bows.

- I like to find EC's botiquey clothes at consignment sales, on Zulily, and from Ebay. Seriously.

I just recently started making EC's clothes thanks to my handy dandy embroidery machine, so hopefully I will get to post some of her newest outfits next week!
