Ordinary

Because sometimes you just need to document the extraordinary moments in ordinary days.

Nothing extravagant.
Nothing fancy.
Pajamas.
Messy hair.
Smiles.
Giggles.
Grammy's quilt.
Looking out the window.
Technology.

Five Ingredients and Five Minutes

So in lieu of a baby/lifestyle/home post today I am going to share an icing recipe that will change your life. Seriously. It is the best chocolate icing I've ever had. Five ingredients and five minutes and you will be a happy camper.

Yesterday per the hubs request I made cupcakes. Halfway through the baking process I realized that I didn't have chocolate icing. Which for us, is a must with yellow cupcakes. So I decided to search around and make my own icing. This turned out to be a wonderful decision.

I gathered all of my ingredients and whipped this up in about five minutes. If you're in need of frosting then you HAVE to make this. It's divine.

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter {melted}
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar

Directions
In a large bowl, beat margarine and cocoa together until combined. Add milk and vanilla; beat until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until desired consistency is achieved. Adjust with more milk or confectioners' sugar if necessary. Enjoy!

You can find the original recipe {HERE}

Breakfast

This morning I grabbed my DSLR for a little breakfast photo shoot. I need to do this more often because it's not just official photo shoots and special occasions that need documenting. I just love it all;  the hair, the pj's, the banana, the dog. All of these pictures are just so true to our life at this stage. And I love it.

Eyes. Hair. Nana.

Besties.

When did she become such a big GIRL?! I look at this picture and I feel like I'm getting a glimpse of what she will look like when she's older.  But in the same breath...don't you just want to squeeze those BABY cheeks?!

Who needs to sign "all done" when you can just wiggle down in your chair and scream? ha!

Breakfast is served.

Now grab a plate and join us! Time to dig in.

Free Valentine's Day Printable!

Last night I was browsing pinterest to get some ideas for our church bulletin board ideas when I saw a Sunday School class who used James 3:16 in the most creative way. So I took the idea and ran with it. I created a super cute printable that I plan on putting up in our house. I thought y'all might enjoy it too.

I just love that it reminds me that I have the ultimate Valentine, Jesus! :-) He has given us all a gift so much greater than chocolate or roses. He gave his own life for our sins, so that we may join him one day in heaven! What better gift could you ask for?!

Since all of my images on this little ol' blog are copyright protected you can't just right click and save. So I have included a downloadable link below so you can enjoy this printable!

Warm Weather Wednesday

It's been several days since our nice bout of warm weather. It is now dreadfully cold again. I'm ready for some warmth to return for good!

On Wednesday it was daddy's day off so we spent some time outside enjoying the weather as a family.

I cannot handle how cute she is. The pony, the plaid shorts, her face! It's all TOO CUTE! And she's signing bird, of course.

Walking to the park.

Girlfriend loves the slide.

Pure joy.

EC loves holding daddy's hand. She now asks to hold his hand, melt my heart.

I love her. And her faces.

Sweet cheeks.

Emma Claire had her 15 month appointment on Wednesday. She is finally over 20lbs! woo hoo! 20.5 lbs Her head and height are both in the 65th percentile. Girlfriend is tall and skinny. But healthy as a little horse!
