A Sweet Moment

Today I ran to Michael's {ALONE!} because the hubs was home and could watch Emma Claire. I only needed a few things and it was just easier to leave her at home rather than bundle her up and load her in the car. Well I made it a quick trip and when I came home I found this...

They were sitting on the couch together watching cartoons {old school looney toons... ;-) hehe} when EC fell asleep. The hubs was pretty excited. She hasn't done this in months.

She ended up laying down and he got to hold her like a true baby. She looks SO BIG to me here! And is his face not the cutest? He was pretty tickled that he was getting to hold her. He has been saying lately that he just wants her to fall asleep while he's holding her. Well he got his wish.

Teething is hard work, y'all! She has been worn out by it lately. Yesterday she napped for FOUR HOURS! If I didn't have a video monitor I would have been in her room checking on her constantly. After her long nap I noticed that her first top eye tooth broke through. So she now has two eye teeth {one on top and one on bottom}, is working on the rest of her eye teeth AND molars. I would want to take a four hour nap too!

A Little Bit of Life...

Yesterday we had a break in the cold, gloomy weather, and finally had a nice day. After eating lunch Emma Claire and I spent the afternoon playing outside.

We sat in the backyard and watched the friendly neighborhood geese float around in our pond. Emma Claire LOVED watching them.

We played at the park. This picture is one of my all time favorites. Her face shows pure joy. And her hair, cracks me up. So fluffy. I just love it.

I tried to get some cute pictures with Emma Claire while we were playing. She did not feel like pictures were all that important. This makes me worry about taking pictures with her during her teenage years...HA!

I don't know about y'all but at our house it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I made a big mesh wreath last night and I LOVE it! So festive. And really...Jesus IS the reason for this entire holiday season.

Family Tree Farm Fun

A few days ago we decided to visit a local tree farm. It was nice to spend some quality family time together. Even though we didn't get a "real" tree this year, it was fun to look {and smell them}, and there were plenty of other fun activities to do. The only downsize was the temperature. I believe it was in the 40's with a wind chill below freezing! Burr!

Of course I had to get a picture of my baby bear with the bears! Sic'em!

It was just a little bit windy!

Sweet baby profile.

Measuring up!

LOVE her face here!

Such a little adventurer.

Talking with the rabbits.

Chickens!

Mommy wanted more pictures...Emma Claire did not. End of story.

Moo. Baby cow.

I LOVE this picture. Such a daddy's girl.

Such a magical picture.

Time to leave. We plan on going back when it is a little warmer!

I have to say she had an ADORABLE smocked Christmas tree dress underneath all of her layers! It was too cold for pictures though! She will wear it again I'm sure.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the year...

CHRISTMAS TIME!
That's right y'all. It's time to deck the halls, sing carols, bake cookies, trim the tree, ride in a one horse open sleigh, but most importantly it's time to break out the CHRISTMAS SMOCKING. I am beyond excited. So is Emma Claire. And Gracie, too. ;-) I have been collecting Christmas outfits this entire year. I have quite the little collection going so far and can't wait for Emma Claire to wear them all.

Tis the season!

Friendsgiving

On Thanksgiving day Emma Claire woke up bright eyed and busy tailed, as always. I just love her in the mornings, such a joy.

While the parade was on I got out Emma Claire's fisher price nativity. She was pretty insistent that we open it RIGHT. THEN.

"Mom, seriously. Can we open it NOW?!"

She LOVED it!

After playing, eating some lunch, and an afternoon nap it was time to get our turkey on. I dressed Emma Claire in her DARLING turkey jumper and took some pictures before heading out the door.

I love her sweet little smile in this picture. She is just too much.

Self timer shot. It's a tad blurry but it's the only good one. I'll take it over no picture at all.

After our photo shoot we headed over to our friend's house. I was so grateful that they invited us into their home to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. Good company, great food, funny babies, and lots of laughs...sounds like a great day to me!

Emma Claire ate SO much turkey. It was delicious!

Sweet baby Allison looked so cute! Emma Claire loved her. She kept her giving hugs and kisses.

Emma Claire with the "little" girls. Miss Aislee had a beautiful red flower on and Emma Clarie kept trying to take it off her head. Such a stinker.  I should mention that this was a VERY hard picture to get! I can hardly get EC to stand still now a days let alone SIT still! But I had to get a picture of the three little ladies together.

This was probably the cutest thing that happened all evening. Mr. Asher {the wagon puller extraordinaire} was kind enough to pull Emma Claire all around the house in this wagon. It was SO DANG CUTE.

Needless to say Emma Claire LOVES Asher. She followed him around all evening, when he wasn't following HER around. They kept us laughing, that's for sure.

Just for fun, a little turkey day comparison.
Thanksgiving 2011 {on the left} and Thanksgiving 2012 {on the right}
I can't believe how much my little turkey has grown in just a year! She was such a tiny thing this time last year!

We had a great Thanksgiving and are so thankful that even when our guy has to work a 12 hour shift ON turkey day, and we are away from family we have great friends to spend the day with.
