$5 Flower Headbands

Several months ago I felt the urge to get crafty and make Emma Claire some flower headbands. I loved the two we had but I paid $10+ for them and I KNEW I could make them for less. 

Well wouldn't ya know it...just as soon as I received all of the supplies to make them a certain baby stopped tolerating headbands. There goes that bright idea! This morning I cleaned out EC's closet and found my little flower headband box and thought that I would go ahead and make them and offer them to Y-O-U! 

I'm not sure of the exact size of the headbands but they are pretty big. They won't fit a newborn or younger infant, unless they have a bigger head. EC had a tiny head though so I am not a good judge of baby head size!

Emma Claire is a WALKER!

So I feel like I have been a slacker blogger lately but I have good reason. Emma Claire is now WALKING! I feel like she took a few steps several weeks ago and wasn't impressed with the whole "walking" thing. But then a few days ago she decided she wanted to walk, so she did! She can now get up on her own when she falls so I consider her a "true" walker. She does still crawl some, but not much! I have the cutest video of her that I cannot get to upload. My Little Walker

I also found a cute picture of the hubs taken when he was eleven months old and just started walking. Coincidentally Emma Claire is eleven months old and has just started walking too so I had to try and get a similar shot to compare. 

I'm pretty sure they have the same legs. I just love this. They even hold their arms the same when they walk! I know I have baby Mallorie pictures like this too but my father in law has several albums of scanned baby pictures on Facebook that I was able to pull from. :-) At EC's party I plan on having lots of pictures of the hubs AND I along with Emma Claire's pictures to compare. I really do think she is a perfect mix of both of us.

 

Sweet Sundays

I just love Sundays, don't you? Even though our Sundays aren't traditional Sundays, since it isn't part of our weekend, it's still a great day. Usually we get to go to church as a family but the past two weeks it's just been us girls. 

When getting ready requires more than just putting my hair in a ponytail and slipping on nike shorts and a t-shirt it is usually a struggle if I'm alone. However, today miss Emma Claire played on her own for long enough for me to get all dolled up.

This morning I pulled out some puddle jumpers that I got for $1 at a consignment sale and Emma Claire went NUTS. She LOVES shoes and is always playing with them or trying to put them on her feet if she doesn't already have a pair on.

I love her little smirk. It just kills me. Also, I almost can't handle how cute she is in this bubble. I'm so glad it warmed up again so she could wear it. 

 

All ready to go!

Yesterday I installed Emma Claire's big girl car seat and this morning she took her first ride in it. She really seems to love it! I personally like that it is very sturdy and I honestly feel like it is more secure than her newborn carrier. I was constantly  adjusting the straps because her newbie one would move around. So far britax is everything it's cracked up to be. And might I add I was pretty proud of myself for installing it all on my own. That is just another plus in my book for this car seat.

Couldn't Pick Just One

A few nights ago I was looking through some old pictures. {AKA pictures from last month! ha!} I stumbled upon a bunch of pictures I hardly remember taking. They were from the only day off the hubs had in September. We spent the day having fun as a family and that evening ate pizza out on the patio. I apparently had an impromptu photo shoot with the always entertaining Emma Claire. When I was looking at them I couldn't pick one, or even a few...I have to share all of them! 

She is such a HAM! The hubs and I were just cracking up as we looked at these pictures. She never fails to keep us entertained, that's for sure! Lately I feel like we ask each other, "What did we do before having her?" constantly. It's true, I would love to remember what we actually did with all of our time/energy before having a baby! Ha!

Three Ingredient Italian Pork Chops

Welcome to Tasty Treat Thursday everyone! Today's recipe is what I made last night for dinner. I had a screaming baby at my feet and no time to cook. So I grabbed some fresh pork chops from the fridge, a can of tomato sauce , and a can of diced tomatoes.

Ingredients

- Pork Chops {boneless}

- Can of tomato sauce

- Can of Diced tomatoes

Also need spices to taste {salt, pepper, garlic salt, brown sugar}

Directions

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

- Place pork chops in a glass 9x13 pan. 

-Add salt and pepper to pork chops.

- Smother pork chops with tomato sauce

- Spread can of tomatoes around pork chops.

- Season with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and brown sugar. I am usually pretty generous with my brown sugar. It's a necessary part to offset the acidity of the tomatoes.

This recipe literally took 5 minutes from opening the pork chops to sliding the pan into the oven. I am happy to report that it was DELICIOUS! I popped it in the oven as I went upstairs to bathe Emma Claire and when I came down from putting her to bed dinner was almost ready. I cooked some pasta and dinner was D-O-N-E. This will definitely be one of my go to recipes from now on!
