Pretty Bows and Puppy Toes

The girls got groomed the other day..it was about TIME! Their hair was out of control and Gracie looked like a walking rug...I kept thinking of the foot stool on Beauty of the beast when I looked at her! :-) I know..not a rug, but you get the general idea!

What do you think? Do you see the resemblance? hehe

Here they are after! Aren't they so cute?! I was shocked at how tiny Gracie looked without all of her hair. They got a haircut, a bath, and their little toes trimmed! And don't you just love their little bows! The ladies at this PetSmart were WONDERFUL and SO SWEET!  Gracie's bows lasted just long enough for me to get an up close picture :-) Dixie was much better and kept hers on the whole car ride home! ha! No matter how long they lasted..they were still cute!

Sweet baby was NOT a fan of the bows...this is the best I could get!

Dixie's cute green bows! :-) I just love them!!! They are both SO happy now that their hair is cut, and so am I! The bible verse I'm sharing today was my "Daily Bible Verse" that I get each morning. I just loved the devotional that came with it. I'm sharing that today as well.

"The other night I was going into my living room and it was dark in there because I wanted to turn on the lamp, not the overhead light. As I was trying to find the lamp, I was sticking my hand out in front of me, trying to make sure I don't bump into anything or trip over something and hurt myself. It was such a scary feeling not knowing what is in front of me. All of a sudden Curt (my husband) switched on the light. I thought "whew" and was so very thankful I could see again!

The question is... do we feel like we are in the dark today, not sure what is in front of us, what is coming up? Do we need some light to shine on us or in front of us so we can see? Are we tired of bumping into things or tripping and falling?

Sometimes we just need some direction... nice solid direction. God's Word can give that to us as we spend time in it. We may not always understand what we are reading at that moment but don't get discouraged if your not sure. God is faithful to give us understanding....so keep reading!!!"

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Today we had a great day, lots of food, fun and family time We started off the day by eating lunch at Granny and Grandpa's. Here is the table....mmmm such good food! :-)

We had SO MUCH food! It was all wonderful...we had roast, peas, brown rice (my favorite!), corn, cucumbers soaked in vinegar, okra (my ALL TIME favorite!), squash casserole, and tomatoes. For dessert...homemade peach cobbler. :-)

After lunch we all went home and laid by the pool. I think the dogs had more fun than we did!

This one LOVED pool time the most of all I think! :-)

I don't think these two know what's coming...tomorrow they're going to the vet AND they're getting groomed...they are both in DIRE need of a haircut! I hope you all had a restful and relaxing Easter :-) It's great to finally have time to relax and get back to blogging!

"And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name" Romans 1:4-5

Busy Day!

Today was a busy day in Georgia! We traveled to Macon to run errands and do some shopping! :-) Then we went to Ray's Millpond for dinner, southern food at it's finest!

Of course the food isn't exactly the healthiest...but if we visit here once a year I'm okay with it!

I always get the alligator and shrimp! I'm not much of a hush puppy fan, but after dinner you take your leftovers and feed them to the live alligators they have out back!

They're just little babies! And no...these aren't the ones they serve in the resturant ;-)

Another fun thing that we've gotten to do while in Georgia is watch the dogs run around in the backyard! There is a ton of land for them to explore and they love it!

Have you ever seen two happier puppies? :-) They love Geogria!

Peaches, Pecans, and Boiled Peanuts

Hello everyone! It's been a while...I've been trying to wrap up my semester and get everything done before graduation! My last day of teaching was today :-( I was so sad to leave my sweet first graders. They made me a book detailing all of their favorite things about me...I'll have to share some sweet pages from that book soon! A few of the reasons they love me are: I have pretty hair, I show them the pictures of the books I read, I'm nice, I'm good at recess duty...and the list goes on and on. Just about each one of them told me I was beautiful, teaching first grade is good for the soul :-) While I am sad to be leaving my wonderful class I am excited to start this new chapter in my life!

The Hubster and I are getting ready to take a vacation to Georgia to see family! This wonderful trip will also include a trip to the beach AND a wedding shower...needless to say, I'm pretty excited!!! Expect to see lots of blog posts soon! Georgia is one of my favorite places on earth, and for good reason! Here are a few of the things I'm looking forward to on this trip...

The scenery, isn't this beautiful!? This is actually the Hubster's beautiful pond and house in the background :-)

This picture doesn't even do them justice...BOILED PEANUTS! :-) It's a tad early, so there may not be any...I'm determined to find some!

Smok'n Pig Bar-b-que!!! :-) The best bbq! I'm so excited for this!

The houses...one of my favorite things to do is just drive around and look at all of the adorable houses. I also love all of the land they have!

Enough said. :-) The Hubster's Granny makes a WONDERFUL peach trifle that is TO DIE FOR! However, the Hubster just informed me that it is not only too early for peanuts...but it's also too early for peaches :-( Those will have to wait for another visit this summer!

Now it's just a 14-15 hour drive away! Once we get there it will be SO NICE to have some time to relax, visit with family, eat some good food, and have FUN! Stay tuned for our travel tales!!!

Tweet Tweet

Hey y'all! :-) So I've finally decided to start using my Twitter! I've had one for a while but I haven't really used it. My brother in law convinced me to start using my twitter to update people about my blog! So I've added a button on the sidebar that you can click, or you can go here :-) I hope to have some new followers soon!!!

Hehe I just love this little bird! Too cute! :-)

It's no joke...we ELOPED!!!

Well folks, The Future Hubster is "future" no more! Now he's just....The Hubster!!! Friday, April 1st, yes April Fool's Day, we eloped!!!

After months of trying to plan a wedding around a hectic summer we finally decided to go for it and elope. The Hubster begins training in June for his new job and will be in training for several months...try to plan a wedding around that!

We decided that we didn't really care about the big huge wedding, we just wanted to be married and focus on our commitment to each other.

I cannot tell you what a HUGE RELIEF it was to do it the way we did! I'm in no way bashing big weddings, I love them and if we could have had one we would have! It just didn't work out that way for us. :-)

I'm not sad and I don't regret my decision...I'm thrilled to be married to the most wonderful man. :-)

My engagement ring with our wedding bands!

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:4-6
