Ain't nothin' sweeter...

I dont' think theres a better combination in the world than chocolate and strawberries. :-) I feel that most people would agree with me! I've been mentioning to Future Hubster that I wanted some chocolate covered strawberries lately. Well tonight we made some ourselves! It was such a fun "home date" :-) It all starts with this...

mmmm... :-)
and don't forget about these....

Don't they look DELECIOUS?!

Showing off the pretty strawberry on one of my new plates!

Future Hubster decided that I am good enough at "strawberry dipping" I should consider making it my career someday. Ha! I highly doubt that will happen, honey ;-)

The finished product, SO YUMMY!!!

This goofy dog never ceases to amaze me with how cute she can be :-) She is like a furry garbage disposal...she will eat ANYTHING. I still can't stop laughing at this picture! I tried to get some of Dixie but she is more shark like when it comes to her food...as you will see from the following pictures.

***Disclaimer***
The dogs weren't given ANY chocolate! :-) They just got to nibble at the end of the strawberry after the chocolate was gone! Thanks Gail for pointing that out!!! I would hate for people to think I was giving them chocolate, because it is toxic to dogs!!!

Duh nuh....

Duh nuh....Duh nuh, Duh nuh, Duh nuh

CHOMP! I'm so glad that the dogs were able to have a healthy little "snack" too! If you haven't ever made homemade chocolate covered strawberries, I think you should! Encourage your boyfriend, fiancé ,or hubby to make them with you this Valentines weekend! It's a fun activity and sure beats going to a store to get chocolate covered strawberries!

The verse I am sharing tonight represents how I feel about all of the sweet comments I got on my blog today. I never thought that I would interact with so many wonderful women just my linking my blog to Kelly's blog. It was so fun and I feel honored to be a part of it! So if you viewed or commented on my blog today, THANK YOU :-)

Dream Kitchen in the Making

For a while now I've known that I want a blue and yellow french country kitchen. I can picture the white cabinets with pops of yellow and blue here and there. When I refinished my kitchen table and chairs this summer I just knew that someday they would feel right at home amongst the yellows and blues in my kitchen. My current kitchen is quite small and has wallpaper that has hints of red in it. Therefore my kitchen now does not match my dream kitchen vision. Which I'm fine with, I'm more than happy to hoard blue and yellow items that will make their debut when future hubster and I move into our new house! :-) Here is a picture of a kitchen I ADORE...I want this kitchen!
Aren't those sunflowers to die for? So cute! I also have a slight obsession with toile , my current house doesn't have any...that will all change with my next house. Future Hubster...look out :-) This next kitchen is also SO PRETTY.

I love the chandiler, how fun is that?! I am also in LOVEEE with their curtains!!!

Here's one more, just for me to drool over :-) I think my favorite thing about this kitchen is the chair that is seated at the island. I also love the white "brick" tiles above the stove. I don't picture my kitchen with yellow cabinets but overall I love this kitchen too! Here are some of the things I have compiled for my blue and yellow kitchen!

I just love this, it's a little urn with a lid. Don't let the picture fool you, it's actually quite a good size...I think I would love to have some sunflowers in this! :-)

How fun is this bowl?! My mom, knowing I want a yellow and blue kitchen one day, got me a ton of kitchen accessories in these colors! I just love this bowl!

Here are a few of the cute towels my mom got me.

These even came with a cookie cutter! :-)

I got this adorable basket at Marshalls for only $9!

What could be more "French Country" than these plates? I got a set of four of them at $3 a peice....I'm going to go back to get four more to have a whole set... :-) I haven't decided if I am going to use these to eat off of though...I think they might be prettier hung up on the wall! I feel like I'm off to a good start and will hopefully have plenty of accessories to decorate my future kitchen with. On a completly different note...if you weren't convinced by my last post that Gracie is a complete brat then look at the pictures below...

I was attempting to get a cute picture of her...but she decided she didn't want anything to do with that. I thought the tounge sticking out was just a cute coincidence....

I am convinced that THIS was no coincidence, this was intentional...she is such a little stinker! :-) After working with 6 & 7 year olds all day, I come home to this! hehe It makes me smile though, I hope this brightened your day!

This week has been very stressful for me so far, and it's only TUESDAY!
The bible verse I am sharing today really helped me relax and remember that, at the end of the day....I am not in control. So if you're having "one of those days" just take a deep breath, remember that there is a greater plan in place and that everything will work out just the way that he has intended it to.

When little dogs decide to mud bog...

I must start this post by first telling you that both of these little sweeties have had baths within the last 48 hours...Dixie actually had a bath TODAY. With that said, they both decided it would be a wonderful idea to go bounding through the largest puddle (more like a small lake due to all of the snow we got a few days ago) in the courtyard. They then decided that it would make their little adventure more exciting to run across the courtyard and through the largest area of mud they could find. It's like they just knew that they were clean and could hardly stand it! They tore around the backyard for a good five minutes getting completly dirty. At this point I decided they might as well get their energy out beacuse there was no way they weren't getting a bath...

Yes...she's very cute. Get beyond that and look at her completly muddy paws...you can't see this, but her little furry tummy was also covered in mud...not so cute anymore, is she? ;-)

The instigator of the whole ordeal...aka Dixie's partner in crime....she even LOOKS guilty!

This picture really doesn't do it justice...

And this little stinker is quite the "low rider". Since she is so low to the ground she was covered in mud.

Away to the bathtub we went!!! Such little brats...they even look guilty here! Maybe they just love bathtime so much that they want to come back for more! I very highly doubt that!

My sweet little drowned rat-dog....I was shocked to find out that she literally had the contents of the whole backyard stuck to her tummy fur. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but it was a pain to get off of her! Doesn't she look thrilled? :-)

This is one of my favorite things to do in life...when Gracie is all dried off I take a towel from the dryer and swaddle her. It takes her all of three minutes to be sound asleep, and if it were up to her she would stay like that all day. Okay....I have a confession...I wasn't ever really mad at them :-) It was quite the little spectacle and I'm sure that the young men that witnessed it from their balcony were quite entertained. Life happens and you just have to grin and bear it. :-)

Puppies in the Snow

The dogs were so cute in the snow! I just wanted to share some pictures of them...they're too cute not to share. I told you that I would be sharing some soon :-)

Snowy noses!

After a long day playing out in the snow, taking pictures, and enjoying the wintery weather it was time for Miss Gracie to get a bath. Dixie dried right off, while Gracie had ice packed into her fur and it wouldn't come off. After giving her a bath I dried her off and then swaddled her in a warm towel fresh from the dryer. It was the cutest thing to watch, she literally was asleep within five minutes. I, too, dozed off soon after and future hubster grabbed the camera and snapped a picture of us sleeping :-)

All tuckered out after a long, fun day.

"You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—
the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals,
the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.
O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!" Psalm 8:6-9

Winter Wonderland

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event.  You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?" J.B. Priestley

As I went to bed last night the snow was beginning to fall and I couldn't wait to wake up and look out my window. Waking up to a world of white is an experience that never gets old! I was like a little kid again!!! Living in the south, any frozen precipitation is likely to cause a frenazy...this one sure did. I was up at 5:30am on a NON school day for me, just to peek at the yard and see how much it snowed. Naturally the puppies were up with me, so we went outside to explore!

The puppies had no idea what was coming...

They were very interested!

Dixie in the snow for the first time! Don't worry...I'll have more pictures of the puppies playing later... ;-)

Future hubster and I went out for an early morning drive before anyone was out on the roads. This was so fun, it's nice to be the only ones out on the roads...and much safer too!

My school is so pretty when it snows :-)

Future Hubster and I on "our" swing on campus.
We sat and talked on this swing for hours after our first date, and this is also the spot where we sat and talked right before he proposed. It's a very special place to us. So naturally we go there to take pictures in the snow!

It was so fun to get an "official" snow day!
I don't technically have class anymore because I'm an education major and I teach all week. However because I don't go to my school on Fridays I have seminar on campus, and it was fun to have that canceled!
