Yesterday was a very special day for me. As a mom "me" days are few in far between...if ever. However, yesterday was a definite ME day...I was baptized yesterday!
I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in college but didn't have a home church to be baptized in, until now. I am so grateful that we have found a church family that has welcomed us with open arms. Being away from our real families has been hard, but as we make new friends and form relationships here it makes it a little easier.
Our church finished construction on the new sanctuary a few months ago and the baptistry was just finished. Yesterday the baptisms that took place were the first in the new baptistry! There were eleven baptisms total. In my "group" there were two adults and three children. It was cute to talk with the little kids and hear their questions. One even proposed that he "cannonball" into the baptistry with Pastor Billy! ha! Kids. :-) There was also a father and son that were baptized together. What a special day for their family!
Emma Claire wore a plaid, smocked dress that had "JOY" written in the smocking. I thought it was the perfect dress for the day. It was most definable a joyful day for our family!
"For all were baptized by one spirit so as to form one body- whether Jews of Gentiles, slave or free- and we were all given the one spirit to drink" 1 Corinthians 12:13

congratulations!!! (I must admit, it would be fun to cannonball into a baptistry!)
Seriously I cannot get over how much I love this. I teared up seeing it on FB yesterday! :) love you!
I'm so happy for you...and that dress is SO CUTE!
Yay!
Mallorie, that's wonderful! Although we know the baptism itself is symbolic and not necessary for our salvation, it's so important to make it public. I also think it really helps us feel closer to The Lord, like "okay, this is really real now". :) I can't believe I haven't gotten around to blogging about it, but all three of my children were baptized this past summer. It was very emotional as a mother....especially because my father was the one who baptized them!
I'm really happy for you! A very special and joyful day indeed! Clearly, EC let it be known. Too cute. :)
Mallorie, I love this! What a joyous day. To profess your faith in front of a congregation of believers is so emotional. I cry all the time at baptisms because it's such a beautiful symbol. To be one of His is the greatest gift of all! Love this friend :)
Congratulations---so exciting and your daughter is just adorable!
