I don't know about the rest of you moms out there but I feel like with the job title of "mom/household CEO" the job description changes daily. Here's a little taste of what today looked like at my workplace.
Today I was...
Woken up at 3am AND 4am.
Lucky enough to be sporting a super chic outfit leggings and a faded t-shirt. Both covered with paint, mind you.
Too busy to put on even a stitch of makeup.
Forced to put wet hair up in a ponytail.
Home bound. We didn't go anywhere. That rarely happens now a days.
A chef.
A maid cleaning service.
A laundromat.
A painter.
A carpenter.
A dog trainer.
Part pacifier part teething toy. True story. Ouch.
Yelled at all day by a very angry teething baby.
Busy all day comforting that angry teething baby .
Incredibly clumsy. I broke a candle holder. Dropped a glass of water. Dropped AND broke a cup of peaches. Oh and since starting this post I stepped on a folding chair in the basement and cut my toe open.
Oh mom life.
Isn't it glamorous?
Want to know a secret? I wouldn't trade these kinds of days for anything.
Sounds like my day!! I have been SO clumsy lately!! I hit my head on a cabinent and a shelf in the fridge! lol Yesterday I hit my head when getting Olivia out of the car...better me than her right?!
ReplyDeleteOlivia is teething right now too! We think she is getting her molars! :( Last night she woke up 3 times in the middle of the night, the first time was right after I had fallen asleep. I feel so bad for her but have been exhausted all day because she REFUSED to nap.
Days like today I wish Jer was home to help but like you said I wouldn't trade it for the world! LUCKILY all days aren't like today and even if they were I still feel lucky to have these days!!
I can totally relate!!!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate too!! Hope you have a better day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteoh, Amen!! Going to my "other job" -- to the classroom -- on Thursday on 4 hours of sleep...I had the same thought. No matter how miserable I felt, I wouldn't trade it for the world!
ReplyDeleteAnd true life...I got in the shower today with my bra on. MY BRA ON!! oh my head...that mommy brain is SO much crazier than pregnancy brain! ;)
Isn't this the truth!?! I feel like I'm much busier (and way more exhausted) than I was when I worked full time! Little ones are tons of work but you are right when you say it is SO worth it!
ReplyDeleteShower Taps are one of the necessary things needed in a home. All bathrooms must have LED taps; there is no bath space without them. These Antique Basin Taps help to control the free out flow of water, and even do much more these days.
